Policies

Safe, respectful, private by default.

A plain-language summary of how 101 School works. Full policies will be published with our legal registration.

Code of conduct

  • Respect everyone, whatever their nationality, faith, gender, ethnicity, disability, age or opinion.
  • No harassment, hate speech or bullying.
  • No political campaigning or preaching in sessions.
  • No selling, spam or personal fundraising.
  • Honesty in quizzes and Green Step uploads; respect for other people's privacy.
  • Use the 101 School name and logo only as our brand policy allows. Country accounts use approved names, e.g. “101 School Bangladesh”.

Safeguarding young learners

  • Minimum age 13; guardian consent for ages 13–17.
  • Mentors never contact under-18s privately off the platform.
  • Two adults are present in any session with under-18s.
  • A named Safeguarding Lead sits in the Global Team.
  • Every session page has a “Report a concern” route; concerns get a response within 72 hours.

Privacy

  • We collect the minimum we need: your name, email, country, languages and — for the Green Step — your selfie, GPS location and time.
  • Selfies are private by default: only you, verifiers and auditors can see them.
  • Exact GPS is visible only to verifiers. The public Impact Map shows trees to about 1 km, never pointing at a private home.
  • Certificates show the town or city of the tree, never the exact point.
  • Data is encrypted, access is role-based, and we keep backups and an incident-response plan.
  • GDPR principles are our global baseline. You can ask to see, correct or delete your data at any time: hello@101school.org.

Neutrality

101 School is non-political and non-religious, works within local law, and puts volunteer safety first.
